The article discusses the collection of “Borderlands reports” by Melchior Wańkowicz Znowu siejemy w Polsce B (We Sow Again in Poland B), written in the late 1930s, deposited in the Ossolineum Library and never before published in its entirety. The text illustrates the social and political situation in areas of ethnic rivalry, expressed by the reporter in the sentence “our border with the Soviets is trembling with anxiety.” It also reports and interprets the writer’s activities as a propagandist and agitator of the Border Protection Corps during the period of marking and stabilizing the eastern border of the Second Polish Republic. The vision of the Borderlands in Wańkowicz’s documentary and memoirs was confronted with the post-colonial studies, primarily with the interpretation of Daniel Beauvois and his research on the Eastern Borderlands.;
W artykule omówiony został zbiór „reportaży kresowych” Melchiora Wańkowicza Znowu siejemy w Polsce B, napisany u schyłku lat trzydziestych, a po wojnie zdeponowany w Bibliotece Ossolineum i nigdy dotąd niepublikowany w pełnej wersji. Tekst dotyczy sytuacji społecznej i politycznej wieloetnicznych obszarów pogranicza, które w pisarstwie reportera stały się kresową retrotopią – taką kategorię proponuje autorka. Zrelacjonowana i zinterpretowana została działalność pisarza w roli propagandzisty i agitatora Straży Kresowej w okresie wyznaczania i stabilizowania wschodniej granicy II Rzeczypospolitej. Dokumentalistyka i wspomnienia Wańkowicza zostały skonfrontowane z ustaleniami poczynionymi w ramach studiów postkolonialnych, przede wszystkim z interpretacją historii kresów wschodnich w badaniach Daniela Beauvois.
