  The influence of computerization on the range, the coverage and the quality of information about book in library catalogs on example of Lodz University Library. The expansion of computerization has changed the face of modern library. In the article there are presented relations between traditional and computer catalogue. There are discussed the essential similarities and differences occurring between them, especially with regard on: contents, coverage, range, qualities of offered information, search capabilities. The attention is paid to the range of realization information function of library catalogues in our times. More popularity of the computer catalogue among users has been shown.
