  The Author analyses the process of unifi cation of Italy in the period 1860-1861 and the crucial role of the King Charles Albert who promulgated the Fundamental Statute of the Kingdom of Sardinia on the 4th of March, 1848. This paper is also devoted to the origin and the text of this Statute which was the legal basis on which the Kingdom of Italy was established. The Author pays special attention to the relations between the King and the Council of Ministers, the relations in the King’s government and to the practice of applying the Statute.;
  «Larghe e forti istituzioni rappresentative» aveva promesso re Carlo Alberto nella formula di promulgazione dello Statuto fondamentale del Regno di Sardegna, il 4 marzo 1848, confermando l’opzione per «un compiuto sistema di governo rappresentativo», promesso ai suoi sudditi con il Proclama costituzionale dell’8 febbraio 1848. Furono quelle due formule – ambiziosissime e parzialmente disattese – a dare un senso all’esperienza costituzionale subalpina del decennio 1849 – 1859, delineando un sistema politico improntato ai principi liberali emersi nella Francia della Restaurazione e della Monarchia di Luglio.;
  Autor ukazuje proces powstawania zjednoczonych Włoch w latach 1860-1861 oraz rolę jaką w tym procesie odegrał król Karol Albert , a także analizuje promulgowany przez niego 4 marca 1848 r. Statut Fundamentalny Królestwa Sardynii, który na długie lata stał się podstawą ustrojową monarchicznej Italli . W dużym stopniu Autor analizuje genezę i treść Statutu Albertyńskiego ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem relacji pomiędzy królem a Radą Ministrów, stosunków ustrojowych w rządzie królewskim oraz praktyki funkcjonowania Statutu.
