  The starting point of the considerations in the article is the belief that the concept of the canon, in addition to a collection of important texts for a given culture, can also include established concepts of reading works, ways of interpreting them. The author looks at how the notion of Romanticism, established in the research and popular consciousness, has influenced what we see and what we overlook in the texts of the Romantics. The considerations are related to the postulate of seeing Romanticism as a multi-current, pluralized period, where, in addition to “black Romantic” themes, there are also very clearly “bright” themes, models of good, coherent existence and positive patterns of existence.;
  Punktem wyjścia rozważań zawartych w artykule jest przekonanie, że pojęciem kanonu, poza zbiorem ważnych tekstów dla danej kultury, można objąć także utrwalone koncepcje odczytywania dzieł, sposoby ich interpretacji. Autorka przygląda się temu, jak utrwalone w badawczej i popularnej świadomości pojęcie romantyzmu wpłynęło na to, co w tekstach romantyków widzimy, a co pomijamy. Rozważania wiążą się z postulatem widzenia romantyzmu jako okresu wieloprądowego, spluralizowanego, gdzie obok wątków „czarnoromantycznych” istnieją także bardzo wyraźnie wątki „jasne”, modele dobrego, koherentnego bytowania i pozytywne wzory istnienia.
