  Catechetical documents of the Church and theological literature contain general indications for the preparation for the sacrament of confirmation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that confirmation together with baptism and the Eucharist belong to the structure of Christian initiation, and its conscious reception closely connects the candidates for confirmation with the community of believers. This sacrament is granted at a time when candidates struggle with educational difficulties and instability in their spiritual life. Therefore, programme proposals specifying the requirements for its reception, which should meet the expectations of the adolescent catechised, are so important.In order to obtain in-depth information about the value of preparation programmes for confirmation, the main proposals functioning in Polish dioceses have been analysed. Publications that have both the full programme offer aimed at the catechised in the course book, at catechists, group animators and parents in the methodical guide as well as those publications that have a narrower programme scope have been examined. First, the main focus was on the structure of selected materials and their contents assuring effective preparation for confirmation.The review of available programmes entitles us to draw the conclusion that their number does not translate into their substantive content that would guarantee the best possible preparation for confirmation. The proposal addressed to all dioceses, which could unify the catechisation, is also missing. It may also be noted that some proposals excessively burden candidates for confirmation, causing their dissatisfaction and discouragement. The success of the programme may, however, be ensured by a competent and creative catechist. Therefore, it is worth reaching for this text, because it is a new voice in the matters of preparation programmes during the time of the initiated reform of the Polish educational system.;
  Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą ukazania polskich programów przygotowania do przyjęcia bierzmowania w sytuacji, kiedy reforma sytemu oświaty wygasiła gimnazjalny etap edukacyjny, integralnie związany z przygotowaniem do tego sakramentu. Wszelkie propozycje programowe, wytworzone w dwudziestu czterech polskich diecezjach, dowartościowują znaczenie takiego przygotowania i akcentują osobową wiarę kandydatów, a także konieczność ich integracji ze środowiskiem parafialnym. Programowe pakiety edukacyjne posiadają podręczniki dla katechizowanych, poradniki metodyczne do katechetów, animatorów grup oraz rodziców. Dostępne są także propozycje uboższe programowo i treściowo, zawierające jedynie propozycje dla kandydatów lub poradniki metodyczne adresowane tylko do katechetów. Z analiz dokonanych w artykule wynika, że z liczbą przygotowanych propozycji programowych nie zawsze koresponduje ich merytoryczna zawartość. Można także zauważyć, że niektóre propozycje przesadnie obciążają kandydatów do bierzmowania. Z podjętych rozważań wynika, że istnieje potrzeba przygotowania propozycji programowej, która mogłaby w skali ogólnopolskiej ujednolicić katechizację przygotowującą do bierzmowania oraz apel o lepszą formację katechetów związanych z edukacją religijną dorastającej młodzieży.
