The aim of the article is to analyze the position of Polish diplomacy towards the policy pursued in the second half of 1920 by the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Take Ionescu. It differed from the ideas of Edvard Beneš, the originator of the Little Entente. The author drew attention to the views of individual diplomats on the subject of the Little Entente and Polish-Romanian relations. The conducted analysis allowed to answer the question which approach to new systems of Central Europe turned out to be the most realistic. The source base are documents from the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America, so far almost completely unused by historians writing about the genesis of the Little Entente.;
Celem artykułu jest przeanalizowanie stanowiska dyplomacji polskiej wobec polityki prowadzonej w drugiej połowie 1920 r. przez rumuńskiego ministra spraw zagranicznych Take Ionescu. Różniła się ona od pomysłów Edvarda Beneša, pomysłodawcy Małej Ententy. Autor zwrócił uwagę na poglądy poszczególnych dyplomatów na temat Małej Ententy oraz stosunków polsko-rumuńskich. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na odpowiedź na pytanie, które podejście do nowych układów w Europie Środkowej okazało się najbardziej realistyczne. Bazę źródłową stanowią dokumenty z Instytutu Józefa Piłsudskiego w Ameryce, dotąd prawie w ogóle niewykorzystane przez historyków piszących o genezie Małej Ententy.
