  The “Jungle” Prevention Program for Parents: Structure, Principles and Potential Applications

  A strong bond with parents is considered to be the most important factor for protecting children and adolescents against the use of psychoactive substances. At the same time, serious disturbances in the family relationship (e.g. violence) are objectively the reasons for the premature initiation and use of these substances. What can be done to strengthen this factor? Above all, this factor is composed of many elements that are worth emphasizing, because probably not all of them can be strengthened at the same time. There are components that require intensive action, but also those that can be activated and strengthened in a relatively simple way. In addition, the structure and content of the preventive program “Our children in the jungle of life” (in short: “Jungle”), which was described in my book Our children in the jungle of life. How to help them survive? published in 2016. Since then, I have tested the suitability of this scenario in working with adults in various conditions. It seems that it is very well received (positive results of the summative evaluation) and should be examined more thoroughly. In the article, I discuss the structure and principles of work using this scenario.;
  Silna więź z rodzicami jest uznawana za najsilniejszy czynnik chroniący dzieci i młodzież przed używaniem substancji psychoaktywnych. Jednocześnie poważne zaburzenia więzi rodzinnej (np. przemoc) są obiektywnie powodem przedwczesnych inicjacji i używania tychże substancji. Co zatem robić, aby wzmacniać więź dzieci i młodzieży z rodzicami? Przede wszystkim na tę więź składa się wiele elementów, które warto wyróżniać, gdyż prawdopodobnie nie wszystkie da się wzmacniać jednocześnie. Są takie składowe, które wymagają intensywnego działania, ale i takie, które dają się aktywizować i wzmacniać w stosunkowo prosty sposób. Do tego nawiązuje struktura i treści programu profilaktycznego „Nasze dzieci w dżungli życia” (w skrócie: „Dżungla”), który został opisany w mojej książce Nasze dzieci w dżungli życia. Jak pomóc im przetrwać? opublikowanej w 2016 roku. Od tego czasu w różnych warunkach testowano przydatność tego scenariusza w pracy z osobami dorosłymi. Wydaje się, że jest on bardzo dobrze odbierany (pozytywne wyniki ewaluacji) i powinien być dokładniej zbadany. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest omówienie struktury i zasad pracy w wykorzystaniem tego scenariusza oraz przedstawienie jego możliwych zastosowań.
