  The article attempts to describe the criticism of Polish bishops presented in the texts written between 1542 and 1568 by one of the leading representatives of the Counter-Reformation – Marcin Kromer. The study analyses the passages from the works of the humanist, in which words of reprimand against Polish hierarchs appear. The subject of the reflection is how criticism was conducted, what its subject was, and what its proposals for repairing the customs of the clergy. Kromer’s attitude in the context of the relations between the Polish Church and the Jagiellonian court is also analysed.;
  Artykuł jest próbą opisania krytyki polskich biskupów, która znalazła się w tekstach z lat 1542–1568 jednego z czołowych przedstawicieli kontrreformacji – Marcina Kromera. Treść pracy koncentruje się na analizie passusów z dzieł humanisty, w których pojawiają się słowa nagany pod adresem polskich hierarchów. Tematem refleksji badawczej jest sposób prowadzenia krytyki, jej przedmiot oraz propozycje naprawy obyczajów kleru. Analizie zostaje poddana także postawa Kromera w kontekście stosunków polskiego Kościoła z dworem Jagiellonów.
