  The following article provides a comparison between selected neologisms used by S. Lem and their Russian equivalents. The analysis presents lexical units which during the translation process have acquired „a new value of meaning” and, as a result, they have assumed a meaning that is different from the original. The deliberations are accompanied by the discussion on the reasons for these transformations.;
  Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest wybranym neologizmom S. Lema, które w procesie transpozycji na język rosyjski zyskały nowe znaczenie. Zaprezentowane przykłady ilustrują różne przyczyny takiego stanu rzeczy – od poziomu błędu do poziomu świadomej kreacji tłumacza. W obrębie tych zagadnień interesujące wydaje się spojrzenie na bogactwo znaczeniowe oryginalnych leksemów w konfrontacji z jednostronnymi wyborami tłumacza, a także badanie możliwych ekwiwalentów w przypadku serii translatorskiej.
