  The article is an analysis of the book O Niepodległą. Kierunek północno-wschodni (1920) [For Independent. The North-Eastern Direction (1920)], published under the editorship of Diana Maksimiuk (Białystok – Warsaw 2022) as part of the project “My Independence” (for the centenary of regaining independence) carried out between 1918 and 1922. The book contains eleven dissertations and an extensive introduction prepared by the editor of the work. It depicts the events of more than a century ago, when the nations neighbouring Russia tried to strike out for independence.;
  Artykuł jest analizą książki O Niepodległą. Kierunek północno-wschodni (1920), wydanej pod redakcją Diany Maksimiuk (Białystok – Warszawa 2022) w ramach realizowanego w latach 1918–1922 projektu „Moja Niepodległa” (na stulecie odzyskania niepodległości). Książka zawiera jedenaście rozpraw i obszerny wstęp przygotowany przez redaktorkę pracy. Przedstawia wydarzenia sprzed ponad stu lat, gdy narody sąsiadujące z Rosją próbowały się wybić na niepodległość.
