  The aim of the paper is to present an analysis of the thematic-rematic structure of  Polish equivalents of interrogative sentences such as What do you think he had done?,  namely of questions about some component of subordinate sentence clause. In Polish,  an interrogative pronoun has to be placed within the subordinate clause (it can be  moved to the beginning of the sentence, but such an operation is connected with the  contrastive intonation of the pronoun). The author claims that questions of the given  type are to be interpret just as other wh-questions. She cites the theory of thematicrematic  structure of questions of A. Bogusławski and modifies this theory in order  to account for interrogative sentences with counter-factive predicates, such as to lie. ;
  Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie analizy struktury tematyczno-rematycznej zdań pytajnych typu "Myślisz, że co on zrobił?", a więc pytań o element zdania podrzędnego. Pytania takie odznaczają się swoistą strukturą formalną, a mianowicie zaimek pytajny pozostaje zanurzony w zdaniu podrzędnym (może być on przeniesiony na początek pytania, jednak wówczas musi zostać kontrastywnie zaakcentowany). Autorka twierdzi, że pytania wskazanego typu należy interpretować tak samo jak pozostałe pytania uzupełnienia. Powołuje się ona na teorię struktury tematyczno-rematycznej pytań A. Bogusławskiego, a także wprowadza do niej modyfikacje, konieczne, aby uchwycić w ramach jednolitej teorii zdania pytajne o element struktury podrzędnej, w których głównym predykatem jest predykat kontrfaktywny.
