• Description:
  Czech and Slovak territories were frequently crossed by immigrants who were forced to leave their homes after the failure of the November Uprising and resettled in Western Europe. They were predominantly soldiers fighting in the regiments led by Generals Józef Dwernicki, Girolamo Ramorin, Samuel Różycki and others who, during the Uprising, were kept by Austrians in internment camps established in Galicja. Those soldiers left numerous biographical materials. In their personal documents they noted their observations about Czech and Slovak territories under the rule of the Habsburgs concerning such topics as urbanisation, economy, attitudes towards Poles, or national consciousness of Czechs. Furthermore, migrants also described infrastructure or interesting historical sites of the area. This paper discusses selected personal documents. Up to this day, there are numerous volumes of journals and memoirs, some of which have been published. Personal documents in question also contain letters.   Emigranci po upadku powstania listopadowego przemierzali ziemie czeskie i słowackie, udając się do Europy Zachodniej. Byli to głównie powstańcy z internowanych w Galicji przez Austriaków pułków generałów: Józefa Dwernickiego, Girolama Ramorina, Samuela Różyckiego i innych. Pozostawili po sobie źródła o charakterze egodokumentalnym. W tych dokumentach osobistych notowali refleksje dotyczące ziem czeskich i słowackich w monarchii habsburskiej (np. na temat wyglądu miast, gospodarki, stosunku mieszkańców do Polaków, świadomości narodowej Czechów). Poza tym w opisach marszrut poszczególnych osób (oddziałów) przez terytorium Habsburgów są również kreślone obrazy infrastruktury czy zabytków historycznych mijanych miejscowości. W artykule wykorzystano wybrane (najbardziej reprezentatywne) dokumenty osobiste. Do naszych czasów zachowało się z tego okresu kilkadziesiąt tomów wspomnień, dzienników, pamiętników (w tym część została opublikowana). W rękopisach pozostała także korespondencja.
