  The author of the sketch makes an attempt to diagnose today’s situation in school methodology of “reading” painting works and outlines the ideal situation of school fine arts exegesis allowing the insight into the three dimensions of piece of art: the ontological, semiotic and axiomatic. The author sets examples of artists who provide the vast interpretation and enable the discovery of metaphysical dimension of art, she hands the Romantic iconography and within the issue there is Caspar David Friedrich painting. The main part of the sketch consists the interpretation of two paintings by the German artist with the motif of the hero turned with the back to the spectator. The first of themis one of his most renown works titled Wanderer above the Sea of Fog also known as Wanderer Above the Mist, the second, a bit later work Woman at a window – the example of frequently used open widow motif in the iconography of the Romanticism. The differences that decide of the meaning of these two canvases – as the author proves – is the sex of created persons and the place where they perceive the world from. The sketch closes the set of examples of didactic tasks that could make the starting point to school set of books steeped in mystic of Friedrich’s paintings.;
  Autorka szkicu podejmuje próbę diagnozy dzisiejszej sytuacji panującej w szkolnej metodyce „czytania” dzieł malarskich i kreśli idealną sytuację szkolnej egzegezy sztuk plastycznych, pozwalającą na wniknięcie w trzy wymiary dzieła: ontologiczny, semiotyczny i aksjologiczny. Jako przykład twórców, których obrazy dają szerokie możliwości interpretacyjne i umożliwiają odkrywanie metafizycznego wymiaru sztuki, podaje ikonografię romantyczną, a w niej malarstwo Kaspara Davida Friedricha. Zasadniczą część szkicu stanowi interpretacja dwóch obrazów niemieckiego artysty z motywem bohatera odwróconego plecami do widza. Pierwszy z nich to jedna z bardziej znanych jego kompozycji pt. Wędrowiec nad morzem chmur, drugi – nieco późniejszy obraz pt. Kobieta w oknie – przykład chętnie wykorzystywanego w ikonografii epoki romantyzmu toposu otwartego okna. Różnicami, rozstrzygającymi o wpisanych w obydwa płótna znaczeniach, jest – dowodzi autorka – płeć kreowanych postaci i miejsce, z jakiego oglądają one świat. Szkic domyka zestaw przykładowych zadań dydaktycznych mogących stanowić punkt wyjścia do szkolnych lektur przesiąkniętego mistyką malarstwa Friedricha.
