  The Grzybowo near stronghold settlement in the light of non-invasive research and excavation verification - preliminary reports

• Description:
  The stronghold in Grzybowo (Września County) was one of the most important centers during the formation of the Piast state. Its  oldest phase was dated to 919–923 A.D. Research interest dates back to the 19th century, but it was not systematically excavated until 1989–2007 and 2018–2021. The last period of work involved verification of archival records, intensification of non-invasive research and excavation work that also included the settlement closest to the stronghold - Grzybowo, site 6.An excavation at this settlement revealed its intensive use. Objects related to metal production and processing were unearthed. And also a ditch, associated with the earliest phase of the stronghold in Grzybowo. This long ditch separated from the east the area where the stronghold was built making access to it more difficult.Completed excavations and non-invasive investigations show that the open settlement associated with the Grzybowo stronghold was much more intensive than previously thought.;
  Gród w miejscowości Grzybowo (pow. wrzesiński) był jednym z najważniejszych ośrodków w okresie tworzenia się państwa Piastów. Jego najstarsza faza przypada na lata 919–923.Zainteresowanie badawcze sięga XIX w., ale systematycznie wykopaliskowo badany był dopiero w latach 1989–2007 i 2018–2021. Ostatni okres prac to weryfikacja archiwaliów, intensyfikacja badań nieinwazyjnych i prace wykopaliskowe obejmujące także osadę leżącą najbliżej grodu - Grzybowo, stan. 6.W wyniku badań osady stwierdzono jej intensywne użytkowanie. Ujawniono obiekty związane  z  produkcją  i  przetwarzaniem  metali.  A także rów, związany z najwcześniejszą fazą grzybowskiego grodu. Ten długi rów oddzielał od wschodu obszar, na którym gród powstał utrudniając do niego dostęp.Zrealizowane badania wykopaliskowe oraz nieinwazyjne pokazują, że osadnictwo otwarte związane z ośrodkiem grodowym w Grzybowie było znacznie bardziej intensywne niż sądzono do tej pory.
