  The subject is a regional identity and consciousness of residents of selected cities Rybnik conurbation. The aim is to define an area in which respondents live and their relationship to it. Population is characterized by diverse Rybnik conurbation identity and consciousness. Demonstrated that the predominant type of construction to occur in the district is a good indicator for the separation ofresearch areas. Itentails because the length ofresidence and an indicator of ąualification to the group of natives and visitors. Demonstrated numerous differences in the approach to the region between the two groups.;
  Przedmiotem opracowania jest świadomość i tożsamość regionalna mieszkańców wybranych miast konurbacji rybnickiej. Celem jest zdefiniowanie obszaru, na terenie którego żyją respondenci, i ich stosunku do niego. Mieszkańców konurbacji rybnickiej cechuje różnorodny poziom świadomości i tożsamości regionalnej. Dowiedziono, że dominujący typ zabudowy występujący na terenie dzielnicyjest dobrymwyznacznikiem do wydzielenia obszarów badań. Pociąga on za sobą bowiem długość zamieszkania i stanowi wyznacznik kwalifikacji do grupy autochtonów i przyjezdnych. Wykazano liczne różnice w podejściu do regionu między tymi dwiema grupami.
