  This paper reviews mainly Polish-language literature regarding the conceptualization of informal education within the native andragogical discourse. An analysis of existing sources is conducted to select content related to the evolution of informal education, identifying key turning points in its development over time. Various theoretical approaches to informal education are then presented, illustrating its increasing complexity and deepening our understanding. This leads to the formulation of a thesis that identifies two trends in informal education: instrumental and interpretive. The following section addresses the question of how informal learning can be taught. The conclusions summarize the findings and highlight both the benefits and challenges of informal education. The primary conclusion is that informal education is a culturally variable phenomenon, influenced by socio-political contexts and closely tied to everyday life in its various settings. It occurs at unconscious, subconscious, and conscious levels, and its pluralistic and ambiguous nature makes it conceptually challenging now and in the future.;
  W artykule dokonano przeglądu głównie literatury polskojęzycznej dotyczącej konceptualizacji edukacji nieformalnej w rodzimym dyskursie andragogicznym. Z analizy źródeł zastanych wybrano treści odnoszące się do ewolucji edukacji nieformalnej, wskazując w ujęciu chronologicznym na punkty zwrotne w jej rozwoju, następnie zaprezentowano wybrane teoretyczne ujęcia edukacji nieformalnej, ukazujące jej rosnącą złożoność i tym samym wzbogacające jej rozumienie. Na tej podstawie sformułowano tezę o dwóch nurtach edukacji nieformalnej – instrumentalnym oraz interpretatywnym. W dalszej części artykułu podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak nauczyć uczenia się nieformalnego. W podsumowaniu autorka wskazała na walory i wyzwania edukacji nieformalnej oraz sformułowała wnioski końcowe. Głównym wnioskiem jest stwierdzenie, że edukacja nieformalna to fenomen zmienny kulturowo, zależny od kontekstu społeczno-politycznego, ściśle związany z życiem codziennym i różnymi jego środowiskami, przebiegający nieświadomie, podświadomie i świadomie; jest pluralistyczny i rozmyty, przez to sprawia i będzie sprawiać trudności konceptualizacyjne.
