• Description:
  An analogy between marriage and the Trinity was developed almost from the beginning of Christian theological thought, although it was not always accepted even by the greatest thinkers (as for example Augustine or Thomas Aquinas). This theological tradition is continued by pope Francis who uses the comparison of marriage to the Trinity. Similarity between marriage and the triune God should be expressed in unity, openness towards the others (mostly towards offspring) and mutual respect: in absolute equality of a wife and a husband and maintenance of their specific identity as a woman and a man.;
  Analogia pomiędzy małżeństwem a Trójcą była rozwijana niemal od samych początków chrześcijańskiej myśli teologicznej, choć nie zawsze spotykała się z aprobatą, również wśród największych myślicieli (jak na przykład Augustyn czy Tomasz z A kwinu). Ta teologiczna tradycja jest kontynuowana przez papieża Franciszka, który w swoich katechezach o małżeństwie i rodzinie używa porównania małżeństwa do Trójcy Świętej. Podobieństwo to ma wyrażać się w zjednoczeniu małżonków na wzór jedności Osób Trójcy, ich otwarciu na innych (przede wszystkim na potomstwo) oraz we wzajemnym poszanowaniu: w absolutnej równości żony i męża przy zachowaniu ich specyficznej tożsamości jako kobiety i mężczyzny.
