W artykule przybliżono prawne i organizacyjne zasady funkcjonowania mostów i grobli w Wielkim Księstwie Litewskim m.in. w świetle regulacji prawnych wczesnej epoki nowożytnej. Podstawą badań były obowiązujące ogólnopaństwowe akty normatywne oraz przywileje nadawane przez władcę. Problemy te są rozpatrywane w dwóch aspektach: przestrzennym i gospodarczym.
