  The existence of linguistic/dialect atlases is connected with the establishment of the geolinguistic method at the end of the 19th century. This method, which follows the geographical distribution of dialect phenomena and enables to search for the conditions of linguistic development, fully developed in the 20th century. The paper deals with the most significant dialect atlases of all Slavic languages, attention is paid to multinational atlases as well.;
  Existence jazykových/nářečních atlasů je spjata se vznikem jazykovězeměpisné metody na konci 19. století. Tato metoda, která sleduje geografické rozšíření nářečních jevů a umožňuje hledat příčiny a podmínky jazykového vývoje, se plně rozvinula ve 20. století. Příspěvek se zabývá nejdůležitějšími nářečními atlasy všech slovanských jazyků, pozornost je věnována i atlasům nadnárodním.
