  Andreas Osiander Ad Lektor’s foreword to Nicolaus Copernicus’ De revolutionibus, from its publication in 1543 to the present day, is the subject of numerous controversies. The article synthetically reconstructs the events that led to its creation and placement without a signature in the work. It also shows the reasons for the tension between it and the content of the work itself. The aim of the article is to show that Osiander’s misunderstanding of the scientific hypothesis in Copernicus’ view is the source of these tensions. The final part of the article presents the consequence of its understanding in the form of modern instrumentalism.;
  Przedmowa Andrzeja Osiandra Ad Lectorem do De revolutionibus Mikołaja Kopernika, od chwili wydania dzieła w 1543 roku do dnia dzisiejszego, jest przedmiotem licznych kontrowersji. W artykule zrekonstruowano syntetycznie wydarzenia, które doprowadziły do jej powstania i umieszczenia bez podpisu w dziele. Ukazano również przyczyny wystąpienia napięcia pomiędzy nią a treścią samego dzieła. Celem artykułu jest wykazanie, że niezrozumienie przez Osiandra hipotezy naukowej w ujęciu Kopernika jest źródłem wystąpienia tych napięć. W końcowej części artykułu przedstawiono konsekwencję jej rozumienia w postaci nowożytnego instrumentalizmu.
