  The article proposes reading selected texts by the founder of the Kraków school of resocialisation – Professor Jan Konopnicki – in the context of the issue of spirituality. The analysis based on the interpretative paradigm also included the published statements of his students/collaborators. The reading of these sources shows that spirituality was one of the components that defined the framework for the implementation of everyday tasks. Although it was not a fundamental component, it was significant. Jan Konopnicki undertook many different activities that shaped a spiritual society. The aim of the article was to show the dimensions of spirituality that are present in Jan Konopnicki’s work and pedagogy, and which can be considered important for resocialisation pedagogy. Analysing them through the prism of the strategy of supporting spiritual development promoted by Lisa Miller (2016), it was determined that these are: spiritual language, spiritual resources, spiritual community, spiritual traditions, spirituality of nature, spirituality of memory of ancestors, spirituality of testimony/accompaniment. The categories of spirituality that have been noticed are manifested both in his everyday life and in his scientific achievements, among others, through an integral approach to environmental conditions in the field of diagnosing social maladjustment, an attitude towards education expressed by an egalitarian attitude, concern for the objective and fair treatment of others, as well as love and great tolerance towards children and young people. At the same time, the interpretation of J. Konopnicki’s theory and practice allows us to notice a research gap manifested in the undervaluation of the spiritual dimension of a person in pedagogical research undertaken from the perspective of resocialisation. There is a need here to focus on Konopnicki’s activity, for example in the area of shaping the spirituality of his pupils. In the light of the interpretations made, it is postulated that the indicated gap can be filled through a broader reflection on the use of more intensive impacts focused on the spiritual sphere in the resocialisation space.;
  W artykule zaproponowano odczytanie wybranych tekstów twórcy krakowskiej szkoły resocjalizacji – Profesora Jana Konopnickiego – w kontekście problematyki duchowości. Analizie opartej na paradygmacie interpretatywnym poddano również opublikowane wypowiedzi jego uczniów/współpracowników. Z lektury tych źródeł wynika, że duchowość była jednym z komponentów, które wyznaczały Profesorowi ramy realizacji zadań codzienności. Mimo że nie był to komponent fundamentalny, to jednak znaczący. Jan Konopnicki podejmował wiele rozmaitych działań kształtujących uduchowione społeczeństwo. Celem artykułu było pokazanie tych wymiarów duchowości, które są obecne w twórczości i pedagogii Jana Konopnickiego, a które można uznać za istotne dla pedagogiki resocjalizacyjnej. Analizując je przez pryzmat strategii wspierania rozwoju duchowego, którą promuje Lisa Miller (2016), ustalono, że są to: duchowy język, duchowe zasoby, duchowa wspólnota, duchowe tradycje, duchowość natury, duchowość pamięci o przodkach, duchowość świadectwa/towarzyszenia. Dostrzeżone kategorie duchowości przejawiają się zarówno w jego życiu codziennym, jaki dorobku naukowym między innymi poprzez integralne podejście do uwarunkowań środowiskowych w zakresie diagnozy niedostosowania społecznego, stosunek do edukacji wyrażający się egalitarnym nastawieniem, troskę o obiektywne i sprawiedliwetraktowanie innych, a także miłość oraz dużą wyrozumiałość wobec dzieci i młodzieży. Jednocześnie interpretacja teorii i praktyki Konopnickiego pozwala dostrzec lukę badawczą przejawiającą się w niedowartościowaniu duchowego wymiaru osoby w badaniach pedagogicznych podejmowanych z perspektywy resocjalizacji. Zaznacza się tu potrzeba pochylenia się nad działalnością Konopnickiego na przykład w obszarze kształtowania przez niego duchowości swoich wychowanków. W świetle poczynionych interpretacji pojawia się również postulat uzupełnienia wskazanej luki poprzez szerszy namysł nad wykorzystaniem intensywniejszych oddziaływań ukierunkowanych na sferę duchową w przestrzeni resocjalizacyjnej.
