  The article concerns the dilemmas of an editor publishing, after almost 100 years, Stanisław Przybyszewski’s novel Homo sapiens, which was originally published in German. The subject of the analysis are peculiar translations distorting the sense of the message and grammatical, lexical and syntactical errors. Examples of literal translations of idioms from German encourage the reader to suggest new editorial solutions.;
  Artykuł dotyczy dylematów edytora wydającego po niemal 100 latach powieść Homo sapiens Stanisława Przybyszewskiego, która pierwotnie została opublikowana w języku niemieckim. Przedmiotem rozważań są kuriozalne translacje zniekształcające sens przekazu, popełnione błędy gramatyczne, leksykalne i składniowe. Przykłady literalnych przekładów idiomów z języka niemieckiego zachęcają do zaproponowania nowych rozwiązań edytorskich.
