  The article compares the potential of vineyards as assets for the development of oenotourism inselected cities in Poland. The analysis included five cities in Poland, where vineyards are located. The researchwas based on a literature review by both Polish and foreign authors, and interviews conducted with wine-makers. The study discusses the phenomenon of a new form of tourism, oenotourism (vinitourism) whichis noticeably rapidly gaining popularity with Poles. The paper analyzes the country’s potential for a tourismproduct such as oenotourism, which is currently the fastest growing segment of the tourism industry.The purpose of the study was to examine the importance of vineyards for urban development and urbanoenotourism, with the assumption that oenotourism, with its growing popularity, can be an important factorin the socio-economic development of cities. The arguments presented confirm the opinion that vineyardsplay an important role in urban development, but their influence on creating urban development in Polandis not yet strong enough.The results of the analysis suggest that vinitourism has sufficient potential to become an important fac-tor influencing the development of cities in Poland. Despite this, there are some challenges that need to beresolved to fully realize the potential of vineyards and oenotourism.;
  W artykule przeprowadzono porównanie potencjału winnic jako walorów do rozwoju enotu-rystyki w wybranych miastach w Polsce. Analiza obejmowała pięć polskich miast, w których usytuowane sąwinnice. Badania oparto na przeglądzie literatury zarówno polskich, jak i zagranicznych autorów, przepro-wadzono także wywiady z winiarzami. W opracowaniu omówiono fenomen nowej formy turystyki, jaką jestenoturystyka, która zauważalnie szybko zdobywa popularność wśród Polaków. Celem pracy było zbadanieznaczenia winnic dla rozwoju miast i enoturystyki miejskiej, przy założeniu, że enoturystyka, wraz z ros-nącą popularnością, może stanowić istotny czynnik ich rozwoju. Wyniki badań literaturowych wskazują,że winnice odgrywają ważną rolę w rozwoju miast, jednak badania empiryczne dowodzą, że ich wpływ nakreowanie rozwoju miast w Polsce nie jest jeszcze wystarczająco silny. Pomimo to istnieją pewne wyzwania,które należy podjąć, aby w pełni wykorzystać potencjał winnic i enoturystyki.
