Przeprowadzono badania histologiczne budowy męskich wewnętrznych narządów płciowych Sicista betulina (Pallas) - (Sicistinae) oraz Zapus princeps J. A. Allen, Zapus hudsonicus (Zimmermann) i Napaeozapus insignis (Miller) - (Zapodinae). Stwierdzono istnienie dość zasadniczych różnic w budowie tych narządów u przedstawicieli obu podrodzin; dotyczą one: struktury gl. coagulantes, budowy colliculus seminalis (porównaj Fig. 5 i 6), budowy gl. bulbo-urethrales (Fig. 8 i 11) i miejsca ujścia ich przewodów do uretry (Fig. 9 i 10), budowy wewnętrznej bulbus penis i dalszej partii pars spongiosa urethrae (Fig. 12).;
