The article tackles the issue connected with the parents’ educational action in the sphere of forming the identity of young people. Identity understood most generally as identity in pedagogy and psychology is analyzed in two aspects: those of personal and social identity. In the description of identity as qualitative developmental change in the life cycle one should especially stop at the stage of adolescence. It is a time of conflict on the level: identity - dispersal of identity. Identity’s developmental dynamism at the stage of adolescence is the resultant of different factors; the process of education in the family takes a significant place among them. Since formation of a young man’s identity happens in the context of the whole of psychophysical development, the family’s educational function should be carried out in agreement with the conception of man’s integral education. The parents’ educational action, supporting development of identity in young people should first of all aim at broadening the adolescents’ self-knowledge, forming a clearly defined hierarchy of values, broadening the personal models, helping to verbalize their plans, aims and aspirations. Development of identity in adolescents cbedan be hampered by educational errors. Attention mainly should be paid to the parents’ overprotective attitudes, an autocratic style of education, the symbiotic bond between the parent and the child, disturbance of the inter-family borders or transmission of irrationality. The course of the educational process in the family in the area of identity formation in adolescents happens on the basis of identification and giving meanings (internalization). This is why it is so important who the parents are, what their sense of identity is, which identity they experience as the leading one. The parents’ self-knowledge and selfdefinition as well as the quality of interfamily interactions is the beginning of formation of identity in their children and it is in this structure of The personal I and the social We that the parents’ educational function is inscribed.;
W artykule podejmowana jest problematyka dotycząca wychowawczych oddziaływań rodziców w zakresie kształ - towania tożsamości młodzieży. Tożsamość, rozumiana najogólniej jako identyczność, w pedagogice i psychologii analizowana jest w dwóch aspektach: tożsamości osobistej i społecznej. W opisie tożsamości jako jakościowej zmiany rozwojowej w cyklu życia szczególnie zatrzymać się należy na etapie adolescencji. Jest to czas dynamicznych przemian, stawiania ważnych pytań, a zdaniem Eriksona, to czas konfliktu na poziomie (V): tożsamość - rozproszenie tożsamości. Dynamizm rozwojowy tożsamości w okresie adolescencji jest wypadkową zróżnicowanych czynników, wśród nich znaczące miejsce zajmuje proces wychowania w rodzinie. Ponieważ kształtowanie się tożsamości młodego człowieka dokonuje się w kontekście całościowego rozwoju psychofizycznego, dlatego funkcja wychowawcza rodziny powinna być realizowana zgodnie z koncepcją integralnego wychowania człowieka. Wychowawcze oddziaływanie rodziców, wspierające rozwój tożsamości młodzieży, powinno zmierzać przede wszystkim w kierunku rozszerzania samowiedzy młodzieży, kształtowania jasno określonej hierarchii wartości, poszerzania wzorów osobowych, pomocy w werbalizowaniu planów, dążeń i aspiracji. Rozwój tożsamości młodzieży mogą utrudniać błędy wychowawcze. Na uwadze należy tu mieć głównie nadopiekuńcze postawy rodzicielskie, autokratyczny styl wychowania, symbiotyczny związek rodzica z dzieckiem, zaburzenie granic wewnątrzrodzinnych czy też przekaz irracjonalności. Przebieg procesu wychowania w rodzinie w obszarze kształtowania tożsamości młodzieży opiera się na identyfikacji i nadawaniu znaczeń (internalizacji). Dlatego tak istotne jest to, kim są rodzice, jakie mają poczucie tożsamości, którą tożsamość przeżywają jako wiodącą. Samowiedza i samookreślenie rodziców oraz jakość interakcji wewnątrzrodzinnych jest początkiem kształtowania tożsamości ich dzieci i w tę strukturę Ja osobistego i społecznego My wpisuje się funkcja wychowawcza rodziców.
