  The purpose of this article is to attempt to present the causes of religious persecution in Nigeria, taking into account historical and contemporary aspects. The article consists of three parts. The first introduces the reader to the religious geography of the country. The second presents the complex factors of religious conflicts. The last part of the article w deals with the characteristics of the persecution of the Christian community. This article uses the following research methods: critical textual analysis and comparative method.;
  Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba przedstawienia przyczyn prześladowań na tle religijnym w Nigerii, uwzględniając aspekty historyczne i współczesne. Artykuł składa się z trzech części. Pierwsza wprowadza czytelnika w geografię religijną państwa. Druga przedstawia złożone czynniki konfliktów na tle religijnym, natomiast ostatnia dotyczy charakterystyki prześladowań społeczności chrześcijańskiej. W artykule zastosowano następujące metody badawcze: analizę źródeł, analizę treści i metodę porównawczą.
