  The Metaphysical Concept of Relational Transcendentals as a Tool for the Philosophical Knowledge of the Truth about a Personal God

  The vast majority of textbooks on the concept of theodicy focus on the rational argumentation for the existence of the Absolute Being. The remaining publications, devoted to the question of the philosophical knowledge of the nature of God, concentrate mostly on discussing and analyzing some of the divine attributes enumerated by St. Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologiae, disregarding a more precise indication of purely rational reasons justifying the very fact that they are ascribed to God. This applies, in particular, to such attributes as divine knowledge and will, which make it possible, in the natural order, to infer directly that the Absolute is a personal being. It seems that in this context, it would be appropriate to refer more clearly to the concept of the so-called relational transcendentals of truth, goodness and beauty, which constitutes a proper tool for gaining the philosophical knowledge of the truth about a personal God.;
  Znakomita większość publikacji o charakterze podręcznikowym podejmujących problematykę teodycealną gros uwagi poświęca zagadnieniu racjonalnego argumentowania faktu istnienia Bytu Absolutnego. W ich skromniejszej części odnoszącej się do kwestii filozoficznego poznania natury Boga można dostrzec natomiast dość charakterystyczne skupienie się, zwłaszcza w przypadku omówienia niektórych spośród Bożych przymiotów, wyszczególnionych przez św. Tomasza z Akwinu w jego Summa theologiae, na ich analizie, z pominięciem bardziej precyzyjnego wskazywania czysto rozumowych racji uzasadniających sam fakt przypisania ich Bogu. Dotyczy to w szczególności takich przymiotów, jak Boże poznanie i wola, pozwalających w porządku przyrodzonym bezpośrednio wnioskować o tym, że Absolut jest bytem osobowym. Wydaje się, że w tym kontekście właściwe byłoby czytelniejsze przywoływanie wypracowanej na terenie realistycznej metafizyki koncepcji tzw. transcendentaliów relacyjnych – prawdy, dobra i piękna – która stanowi właściwe narzędzie filozoficznego poznania prawdy o Bogu osobowym.
