Wschodnia sztuka wojenna podzielała te same idee co zachodnia, nie omijały jej dyskusje toczone równocześnie na Zachodzie. Problem został zaprezentowany na podstawie analizy porównawczej polskich i hiszpańskich traktatów wojskowych z XVI w. Zabieg ten pozwala wzbogacić teorię o nowe – społeczne i kulturowe – elementy i rozszerzyć jej zasięg na kraje dotychczas ignorowane przez badaczy, a także wprowadzić do polskiej historiografii zarys hiszpańskiej myśli wojskowej doby renesansu. The article is an attempt to introduce old-Polish writings on military matters into the discussion about the theory of military revolution. Eastern and western military arts shared the same ideas, and the same discussions were held. The problem is presented on the basis of a comparative analysis of Polish and Spanish military treatises of the sixteenth century. This made it possible to enrich the theory with new social and cultural factors and spread its geographical presence to countries that had hitherto been ignored by researchers, as well as incorporate an outline of Spanish Renaissance military thought into Polish historiography.
