  Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie studiów 48 synów mieszczan poznańskich immatrykulowanych na różnych uniwersytetach w latach 1490-1505. Analizowane jest pochodzenie społeczne tej grupy – stratyfikacja przeprowadzona jest podług zawodu i zamożności ojców oraz ich udziału w sprawowaniu władzy w mieście. Potem następuje próba analizy roli wykształcenia uniwersyteckiego w zabiegach o awans do elit rządzących miastem. Załączony katalog zawiera biogramy 48 studentów z dokładnymi informacjami o ich rodzinach i biegu życiu.
