The aim of this article is to describe the approach of empowerment and its application in social work in the context of solving social problems, especially the prevention of social exclusion of individuals and marginalized groups. The article operationalize the concept of empowerment, it brought closer to its history and the main essence. Reflections on empowerment approach taken in the context of its usefulness when trying to solve major social problems, pointing to his utilitarian character in search of solutions especially for the practice of social and educational.;
Celem artykułu jest opis podejścia empowerment i jego zastosowania w pracy socjalnej w kontekście rozwiązywania problemów społecznych, a zwłaszcza przeciwdziałania wykluczeniu społecznemu jednostek i grup marginalizowanych. W artykule dokonano operacjonalizacji pojęcia empowerment, przybliżono jego historię i główną istotę. Rozważania nad podejściem empowerment podjęto w kontekście jego użyteczności przy próbach rozwiązywania istotnych problemów społecznych, wskazując na jego utylitarny charakter w poszukiwaniu rozwiązań zwłaszcza dla praktyki społecznej i edukacyjnej.
