This paper presents the activities of transportation policy in the great Canadian cities: Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Transportation policy should integrate the development of spatial and transport systems, which are both part of land use planning, as well as the development of shape. A significant role in the context of the declared principles of sustainable development, the development of alternative forms of accounts for public transport and bicycle. At the beginning of the twenty-first century as a result of a large urban congestion traffic congestion tends to be strong rapid development of various forms of public transport, which will permanently change the modal split and reduce the environmental nuisance of urban traffic and reduce of transportation needs in urban spatial structure. Proposals for possible implementation in Polish conditions are presented, too.;
W artykule przedstawiono działania w zakresie polityki transportowej w wielkich miastach kanadyjskich: Montrealu, Toronto i Vancouver. Polityka transportowa powinna integrować rozwój zagospodarowania przestrzennego i systemów transportu, które są równocześnie elementem zagospodarowania przestrzennego, a także to zagospodarowanie kształtują. Znacząca rola, w kontekście deklarowanej zasady zrównoważonego rozwoju, przypada rozwojowi alternatywnych form transportu publicznego i rowerowi. Na skutek dużego zatłoczenia miast ruchem samochodowym występuje tendencja do znaczącego wykorzystania różnych form szybkiego transportu zbiorowego, który trwale zmienia podział zadań przewozowych oraz zmniejsza uciążliwość środowiskową ruchu miejskiego, a także obniża transportochłonność struktur przestrzennych obszarów zurbanizowanych. W artykule przedstawione zostały również wnioski możliwe do wdrożenia w warunkach polskich.
