  This article discusses the role of the Standing Working Group for Clothing Culture’s role in forming the Comecon countries’ garment industry. The SWG focused on raising aesthetic and quality standards in an attempt to create a competitive model of ‘clothing culture’ in the context of competition with Western markets. The SWG activities also had a propaganda dimension, attempting to illustrate the achievements of the socialist industry. The text includes an analysis of the effectiveness of the group’s activities and its impact on the availability of goods to consumers.;
  Artykuł omawia rolę Stałej Grupy Roboczej ds. Kultury Odzieży w kształtowaniu przemysłu odzieżowego w krajach RWPG. Grupa koncentrowała się na podnoszeniu standardów estetycznych i jakościowych, próbując stworzyć konkurencyjny model „kultury odzieży” w kontekście rywalizacji z rynkami zachodnimi. Działalność SGR miała także wymiar propagandowy, starano się bowiem obrazować osiągnięcia przemysłu socjalistycznego. W tekście znajduje się analiza efektywności działań grupy oraz jej wpływu na dostępność towarów dla konsumentów.
