  The article deals with the issues of regional education in the context of its role and place in contemporary schools. The aim of the article is to present the results of research on this subject among primary school pupils in Podlasie. The results of these studies and the reduced content of regional content in the curriculum noticed by scientists in recent years make it necessary to resume the discussion on the basic problems and postulates in the field of regional education in the Polish education system.;
  W artykule poruszono zagadnienie edukacji regionalnej w kontekście jej roli i miejsca we współczesnej szkole. Celem opracowania jest prezentacja badań na ten temat przeprowadzonych wśród uczniów podlaskich szkół. Zarównouzyskane dane, jak i dostrzegane przez badaczy w ostatnich latach zaniedbania programowe wobec treści regionalnych powodują konieczność ponownego podjęcia dyskusji nad podstawowymi problemami i postulatami kształceniaz zakresu edukacji regionalnej w polskim systemie edukacyjnym.
