  Das Thema der Kanzlei und des „Archivs“ der Bücherei in den Jahren 1923-1939 wurde niemals vorher in irgendeiner Literatur behandelt, daher stützt sich diese Arbeit fast ausschließlich auf Quellen, die leider nicht ausreichten, um die gewählte Fragestellung in ihrer Fülle darzustellen. Doch durch die Analyse von Quellenmaterial gelang es, eine Abhängigkeit zwischen der Kanzlei des Magistrats der Stadt Thorn (der späteren Stadtverwaltung) und dem Bürowesen in der Städtischen Bücherei aufzudecken, zumindest in den ersten Jahren ihrer Tätigkeit. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass die Bücherei die Vorschriften der städtischen Kanzlei zum Vorbild nahm, bestätigen die Akten der Bibliothek aus diesem Zeitraum, in denen Spuren einer Anwendung der Vorschriften von 1931 oder 1934 zu finden sind. Forschungen haben nachgewiesen, dass die Kanzlei der Städtischen Bücherei in der ersten Zeit ihrer Tätigkeit keine komplizierte Struktur hatte, da sie praktisch von einer einzigen Person bedient wurde, die alle erforderlichen Kanzleitätigkeiten ausführte. Bis zum Ausbruch des Krieges gelang es jedoch, in der Kanzlei der Bücherei ein modernes System, nicht auf Tageseintragungen gestütztes System einzuführen und Aktenverzeichnisse als Hilfe zu verwenden. Der Umlauf von Schreiben hing vom eingeführten Kanzleisystem, der Zahl der daran beteiligten Mitarbeiter und dem Komplikationsgrad der internen Struktur ab. Der Aufbewahrungsort war ebenfalls an die in der Einrichtung herrschenden Bedingungen angepasst. Daraus ergibt sich, dass die Kanzlei, obwohl ihr eigene Normativen fehlten, ihre Aufgaben erfüllte.;
  The subject of the office and “archive” of the Library in the years 1923-1939 has never been discussed before in any literature. Thus, the work is based almost exclusively on the sources which were not sufficient to present the issue thoroughly.  However, through the analysis of the source material it was possible to reveal the relation between the office of the Municipality of Toruń (later the City Board) and the office in the Library, at least in the first years of its activity.  The probability that the Library copied the regulations of the municipal office is confirmed in the Library’s acts from that period, where one can find traces of applying the regulations of 1931 and 1934.The research shows that the office of the Library in the first period of its activity did not have a complicated structure as only one person dealt with office work. By the outbreak of the war the modern non-register  system had been introduced in the office and the lists of acts started to be used to help. The circulation of documents depended on the employed office system, the number of workers taking part in it and how complicated the inner structure in the institution was. The place where documents were stored was adapted to conditions existing in the institution. The conclusion is the office worked well despite the lack of its own norms.;
  Temat kancelarii i „archiwum” Książnicy w latach 1923-1939 nigdy wcześniej nie był poruszany w żadnej literaturze, dlatego praca ta opierała się prawie wyłącznie na źródłach, które niestety nie były wystarczające do przedstawienia w pełni wybranego zagadnienia. Jednakże, poprzez analizę materiałów źródłowych udało się odkryć zależności między kancelarią Magistratu miasta Torunia (późniejszego Zarządu Miejskiego) a biurowością w Książnicy Miejskiej, przynajmniej w pierwszym latach jej działalności. Prawdopodobieństwo, że Książnica wzorowała się na przepisach kancelarii miejskiej potwierdzają same akta biblioteki z tego okresu, w których można znaleźć ślady po stosowaniu przepisów z 1931, czy z 1934 r.Badania wykazały, że kancelaria Książnicy Miejskiej w pierwszym okresie jej działalności nie posiadała skomplikowanej struktury, gdyż jej obsługą praktycznie zajmowała się jedna osoba, wykonująca wszystkie konieczne czynności kancelaryjne. Do czasu wybuchu wojny udało się jednak wprowadzić w kancelarii Książnicy nowoczesny system bezdziennikowy i stosować wykazy akt jako pomoc. Obieg pism zależał od wprowadzonego systemu kancelaryjnego, liczby pracowników biorących w nim udział i stopnia komplikacji struktury wewnętrznej. Miejsce przechowywania także było dostosowane do warunków panujących w instytucji. Wynika z tego, że kancelaria pomimo braku własnych normatywów, wykonywała swoje zadania.
