The article is devoted to a very popular and award-winning publishing series “Czytam sobie” by Egmont publishing house. The series is intended to facilitate the learning of reading for children aged 5–7 years and stimulate their reading interests by providing texts of high literary quality and varying levels of difficulty (adapted to subsequent stages of learning to read). The article discusses the detailed assumptions of the series and then analyses its editorial model and the structure of its publications. The specific educational goal determines both the content and form of the works (their length, linguistic and formal-structural shape) and the form of making them available to the novice reader. In small, handy, illustrated books, the literary text is enclosed in numerous materials, which not only facilitate its reception, but also have an additional cognitive, educational, motivating and emotionally engaging function. The specific solutions used in the series have been evaluated from the perspective of the methodology of learning to read and editing standards for children’s books.;
Artykuł został poświęcony popularnej i wielokrotnie nagradzanej serii wydawniczej „Czytam sobie” oficyny Egmont. Seria ma ułatwiać naukę czytania dzieciom w wieku 5–7 lat oraz rozbudzać ich zainteresowania czytelnicze przez dostarczanie tekstów o wysokiej jakości literackiej oraz zróżnicowanym poziomie trudności (dostosowanym do następnych etapów nauki czytania). W artykule omówiono szczegółowe założenia serii, a następnie poddano analizie jej model edytorski i strukturę wchodzących w jej skład publikacji. Konkretny cel edukacyjny decyduje bowiem zarówno o treści i formie utworów (ich długości, ukształtowaniu językowym i formalno-strukturalnym), jak i formie ich udostępnienia początkującemu czytelnikowi. W niewielkich, poręcznych, ilustrowanych książeczkach tekst literacki zostaje obudowany licznymi materiałami, które nie tylko ułatwiają jego odbiór, ale też spełniają dodatkową funkcję poznawczą, edukacyjną, a także motywującą i angażującą emocjonalnie. Zastosowane w serii konkretne rozwiązania zostały poddane ocenie z perspektywy metodyki nauki czytania oraz standardów edytorskich książki dla dzieci.
