The Polish constitution guarantees freedom of association. Due to the specificity of their profession, police officers have a limited capacity of association. They cannot be members of political parties. They do not have a self-government within their profession either. The Independent Self-Governing Trade Union of Police Officers is a substitute for such a self-government.;
Konstytucja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej gwarantuje wolność zrzeszania się. Policjanci z racji specyfiki swego zawodu mają zdolność zrzeszania się ograniczoną. Nie mogą być członkami partii politycznych. Nie mają także swego samorządu zawodowego. Namiastką takiego samorządu jest Niezależny Samorządny Związek Zawodowy Policjantów.
