After the election of an IOC member from Poland, Prof. Jerzy Loth, the communist authorities made unsuccessful attempts to replace him with “their” people. Włodzimierz Reczek adopted a completely different approach when, in 1952, he headed the Main Committee of Physical Culture and the Polish Olympic Committee. Although the issue of changing the IOC member from Poland was important, as it was part of the Kremlin’s plan of action towards the IOC, Reczek seemingly gave up trying to make this change. Reczek’s tactics brought the results desired by the communists. In 1961, prof. Loth was replaced by Reczek in the IOC.;
Po wyborze członka MKOl z Polski, prof. Jerzego Lotha, „władza ludowa” podejmowała nieudane próby usunięcia go i zastąpienia „swoimi” ludźmi. Zupełnie inny sposób działania przyjął Włodzimierz Reczek, kiedy w 1952 r. stanął na czele Głównego Komitetu Kultury Fizycznej i Polskiego Komitetu Olimpijskiego. Chociaż sprawa zmiany członka MKOl z Polski była ważna, stanowiła bowiem część planu działań Kremla wobec MKOl, Reczek pozornie zrezygnował z prób dokonania tej zmiany. Taktyka Reczka przyniosła pożądane przez komunistów skutki. W 1961 r. Reczek zastąpił profesora Lotha w MKOl.
