  In February 2024, the Rev. Prof. Zbigniew Marek, a theologian, catechist and pedagogue, passed away. He had been a professor at the Ignatianum University in Kraków for many years. This article aims to present his profile as a researcher in the realm of religious education theory. The reflections briefly show the educational path of this clergyman and his academic achievements, including earning a habilitated doctorate in pedagogy. In addition, the article outlines the essence of Rev. Marek’s scientific research, particularly in the area of pedagogy. It also mentions where he published his articles. Furthermore, the article highlights his organisational and teaching accomplishments, as well as his contributions to educating academic staff. The text is based on an analysis of the Rev. Marek’s publications, along with archival and printed sources that document his teaching and organisational endeavours.;
  W lutym 2024 roku zmarł ks. prof. Zbigniew Marek, teolog, katechetyk i pedagog. Był długoletnim pracownikiem Uniwersytetu Ignatianum w Krakowie. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie jego sylwetki jako pedagoga religii. W rozważaniach skrótowo ukazano drogę edukacji tego duchownego, uzyskiwanie przez niego stopni i tytułów naukowych, w tym stopnia doktora habilitowanego w dyscyplinie pedagogika. Ponadto zarysowano istotę badań naukowych ks. Marka, zwłaszcza w zakresie jego twórczości pedagogicznej, oraz wymieniono czasopisma, w których badania te popularyzował. W refleksji odniesiono się także do jego dokonań organizacyjnych i dydaktycznych oraz osiągnięć w zakresie kształcenia kadry naukowej. Tekst powstał na podstawie analizy publikacji duchownego oraz źródeł archiwalnych i drukowanych, dokumentujących jego działalność dydaktyczną i organizacyjną.
