Autor skupia się na związkach powojennej recepcji z bieżącą polityką kulturalną nowych władz, zauważa luki, przemilczenia i pominięcia w najważniejszych pracach dotyczących lewicowej krytyki oraz zastanawia się nad tym, jak określone sposoby prowadzenia narracji historycznej (re)produkują niewiedzę na temat wspomnianego wycinka przedwojennego życia literackiego.
