  The aim of the article is to analyse the case of relocations carried out within the Area Revitalization of the Center of Łódź in the context of the international debate on displacements. The first part of the article describes the course of the debate on displacement, focusing, on the one hand, on the paradigm of the "right to stay" and, on the other hand, summarizing the current state of research in Western European countries. The second part describes the conditions of resettlement in the revitalization of Łódź, resulting from the laws and implementation practices at the national and local level, and also analyses the tenants' explanations regarding the planned return. The results of the analysis show that in the case of revitalization in Łódź, most tenants do not take advantage of the opportunity to return to their apartments after renovation. The focus on the right to return should therefore give way to the precise definition and guarantee of such relocation conditions that are satisfactory for the residents.;
  Celem artykułu jest analiza przypadku relokacji prowadzonych w ramach Rewitalizacji Obszarowej Centrum Łodzi w kontekście międzynarodowej debaty na temat przesiedleniom. W pierwszej części artykułu opisano przebieg debaty poświęconej przesiedleniom, z jednej strony koncentrując się na paradygmacie „prawa do pozostania”, z drugiej podsumowując aktualny stan badań w krajach Europy Zachodniej. W drugiej części opisano uwarunkowania przesiedleń w łódzkiej rewitalizacji, wynikające z aktów prawa krajowego i miejscowego oraz praktyki wdrożenia, przeanalizowano także deklaracje lokatorów dotyczące zaplanowanych powrotów. Wyniki analizy wskazują na to, że w przypadku łódzkiej rewitalizacji większość lokatorów nie korzysta z możliwości powrotu do mieszkań po remoncie; koncentracja na prawie do powrotu powinna więc ustąpić miejsca dokładnemu zdefiniowaniu i zagwarantowaniu takich warunków przeprowadzek, które będą satysfakcjonujące dla mieszkańców.
