  ORGANIZATION’S ADAPTATION AND ITS COMPONENTS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE SYSTEMS APPROACH

  All considerations presented in this paper are related to the issue of organization’s adaptation. It is a term that is relatively often associated in the marketing literature and practice with the concepts of market or marketing reorientation. Because of this fact it seems interesting to try to explore how much, and if so – in which way the issue of the implementation of the rules of marketing concept (that is the issue of marketing and market reorientation of the organization) is associated with 76 Iwona Escher the term of organization’s adaptation. The review of management and marketing literature shows that this task is not easy, because the term of organization’s adaptation hasn’t had one clear, unambiguous interpretation so far in the theory of management (and also in marketing). Because of this, in the article the author attempts to propose a definition of organization’s adaptation. It will be based on a definition of adaptation which comes from systems science (cybernetics, most of all) because, as it is presented in the article, this interdisciplinary field of science gives much wider and complete interpretation of the term of adaptation than marketing and theory of management do. The transfer of the term of adaptation from systems science into an area of organization was possible by proving that there is an analogy between organization and cybernetic system, for which adaptation is one of the most important feature.;
  Rozważania prowadzone w prezentowanym artykule dotyczą zagadnienia adaptacji organizacji. Jest to termin, który stosunkowo często wiązany jest w literaturze i w praktyce marketingowej z pojęciami rynkowej lub marketingowej reorientacji organizacji. Występowanie tego faktu sugeruje zasadność podjęcia próby ustalenia, na ile faktycznie, a jeśli tak – to w jaki sposób tematyka implementacji reguł marketingowej koncepcji zarządzania (tematyka marketingowej i rynkowej reorientacji organizacji) wiąże się z zagadnieniem adaptacyjności organizacji. Dokonany przegląd literatury wskazuje jednak, że zadanie to nie jest łatwe, termin bowiem adaptacja organizacji nie ma na gruncie literatury z zakresu marketingu (a także zarządzania) wyraźnej, jednoznacznej interpretacji. W prezentowanym artykule autorka podejmuje próbę wypracowania jego definicyjnego ujęcia, przyjmując za punkt wyjścia rozważania na temat adaptacji obecne w dorobku nauk systemowych.
