  The article attempts to compare Saint Joseph with the concept of masculinity proposed by John Eldredge in the book Wild at Heart. Main theses of this book, such as the man’s basic question and his desires to experience adventure, fight the battle and save the Beautiful were first referred to the biblical text in general and then to the character of the Guardian of the Holy Family, which allowed us to see the particular adequacy of reference to him also in contemporary Christian literature including psychological guides too.;
  Artykuł podejmuje próbę zestawienia postaci świętego Józefa z koncepcją męskości zaproponowaną przez Johna Eldredge’a w książce „Dzikie serce”. Jej główne tezy, takie jak podstawowe pytanie mężczyzny oraz jego pragnienia przeżycia przygody, stoczenia bitwy i uratowania pięknej zostały odniesione najpierw ogólnie do tekstu biblijnego, a następnie do postaci Opiekuna Świętej Rodziny, co pozwoliło dostrzec szczególną adekwatność powoływania się na niego także we współczesnej literaturze chrześcijańskiej, wliczając w to poradniki i przewodniki psychologiczne.
