Remuneration of Crown Court judges had not been satisfactorily solved by the time when the Crown Court (Tribunal) was being established in 1578. Pursuant to the statute, by virtue of which the composition of that highest court was appointed, the judges (also called deputies) rather than being paid regular salaries were to be ensured interests in the so-called 'tribunal box' to which court fees and penalties imposed on participants of proceedings were transferred. This system, however, even if satisfactory in the first years of the functioning of the Tribunal, had undergone various deformations when the morale was generally low, which consequently led to numerous abuses of the proceeds so raised. The idea of no-fee public service, so popular among the 16th century nobility, had gradually become a meaningless slogan in the 17th century. The crisis of the judiciary coincided with the political crisis (and was also one of its consequences), with the result that it took a century to restore it. It was only in the second half of the 18th century that most organs present in the Republic of Poland had finally undergone a deep reform, and the postulates of the supporters of regular salaries forjudges ad materialised. Remuneration for judges was officially approved to include salaries payable from the Treasury. This had finally eradicated the pathology that had been for long bothering Polish judicial system.;
Au moment de la creation du Tribunal de la Couronne en 1578, la question de la remuneration des juges n'a pas ete resolue dans la mesure satisfaisante. Selon la loi qui a fait naitre cette cour nobiliaire de l'instance judiciaire la plus haute, les juges appelees „les deputes" au lieu d'avoir des pensions stables, ils devaient recevoir des sommes pris du ci-nomme „coffret de Tribunal" qui fut alimente par les droits de greffe et par les peines pecuniaires imposes sur les participants aux proces. Ce systeme fonctionnait convenablement dans la premiere periode de l'activite du Tribunal, mais au cours du temps il s'est degrade et il est devenu la cause des fraudes. L'idee du service public gratuit, populaire parmi la noblesse polonaise au XVIe siecle, dans le siecle suivant s'est transformee graduellement dans un slogan sans valeur. Pourtant, la crise de l'administration polonaise de la justice correspondant a la decomposition des institutions de l'Etat faisait obstacle a la reforme. Un debat public qui avait lieu a ce temps-la n'apporta aucun resultat. Ce n'etait que dans la 2e moitie du XVIIIe siecle il est arrive a la sanation des organes du pouvoir dans l'Etat. Sur la vague des changements politiques les partisants de l'introduction des pensions fixees pour les juges ont gagne l'avantage. A cette epoque, on a introduit les solutions diverses y compris les pensions des juges qrace auxquelles on a elimine les patologies paralisantes l'administration polonaise de la justice depuis les decennies.;
W toku wieloletniej dyskusji, jaka poprzedziła narodziny Trybunału Koronnego, tworzono liczne projekty, których autorzy, w swojej znakomitej większości, przewidywali, iż sędziowie będą za swoją pracę godziwie opłacani. Jednak pomysły na to, kto powinien ponosić ciężar utrzymania tych sędziów, były skrajnie różne, w zależności od kręgów, z których wywodzili się autorzy projektów.
