  The Church depicted in Evengelii gaudium is both a thoroughly evangelising and a continually evangelised community. The Church lives by the Good News, and its proclamation constitutes an intrinsic part of her mission. In this light, Pope Francis devotes considerable attention to the form of the preaching the Word of God. His reflections may be seen as a homiletic lecture, enriched with concrete and practical advice on how to preach effectively to contemporary people. As he himself notes — somewhat ironically — neither the preacher nor the listeners should experience suffering during the homily. Rather, the Pope emphasizes the need for homilies that ‘make hearts burn’.;
  Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie formalnych aspektów przepowiadania słowa Bożego w świetle wybranych wskazań zawartych w adhortacji apostolskiej Evangelii gaudium papieża Franciszka. W artykule przyjęto metodę polegającą na analizie treści papieskiego dokumentu w odniesieniu do aktualnego nauczania Kościoła oraz współczesnej literatury z zakresu teologii i homiletyki. Omówiono dialogiczny charakter homilii, zasady jej przygotowania i wygłoszenia oraz rolę głoszącego. W artykule skoncentrowano się zwłaszcza na problematyce dotyczącej duchowego i osobistego przygotowania kaznodziei, potrzeby przejrzystości języka, usystematyzowanej strukturze homilii, konieczności dostosowania jej do sytuacji odbiorców oraz postawie cierpliwości i bezinteresowności. Artykuł jest próbą ukazania, że adhortacja Evangelii gaudium stanowi cenne źródło dla odnowy formalnych aspektów homilii we współczesnym Kościele.
