- Conference on "Polish Digital Libraries 2010" - invitation to submit proposals for papers

On behalf of the Programme Committee we invite you to participate actively in creating the program of this year's conference on "Polish Digital Libraries". At the Conference we expect presentations about practical experiences, research and development, implementation of infrastructure - all related to the Polish digital libraries and European cooperation. The conference will be also a place for sharing good practices and an impulse for further development of advanced technologies, services and applications. Therefore, we encourage you to submit proposals for papers relating to issues such as:
- Mass digitization - outsourcing vs. digitization on your own, the organization of workflow, quality assurance and efficiency, OCR
- Storage of digital copies of cultural heritage - to ensure adequate quality and size, long-term storage, guidance and comprehensive solutions
- Multimedia objects and space in digital libraries - the possibilities and areas of use, the challenges of developing and sharing
- Metadata in digital libraries - the role they play for developers and users of digital libraries
- Users of digital libraries - the expectations, the use of the digital libraries, to assist in the creation of these libraries
- Monitoring and evaluation of digital libraries - visibility on the web, accessibility, usability, utilization publications
- The organization of regional and institutional digital libraries and repositories
- Creation and development of collections of digital objects - objects selection, acquisition of modern and scientific publications, collections promotion
- Legal issues - defining the rights to digital objects, management, determination of rights and re-use objects from digital libraries
- Technical aspects of the operation of digital libraries - hardware and software, productivity, maintain business continuity, data security, technology, presentation of objects
- National and international projects on digital libraries - obtaining funding, implementation, cooperation
- Trends in development of digital libraries in Poland and abroad - from project financing to ensure long-term digital library activities
Anyone interested in presenting on the Conference, please send your paper proposals consisting of:
- the paper title,
- authors list,
- abstracts of 750-1000 words in length.
